Joey Logano and the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford Fusion team qualified sixth for Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event, the Quicken Loans 400, at Michigan International Speedway. Logano was one of 13 drivers to eclipse the 200 mph mark in qualifying, turning a lap of 35.870 sec. (200.725 mph).
“I really didn’t think it was that good of a lap when I came across the line,” said Logano following the Friday qualifying session. “I was disappointed with it because I thought we were too tight. But we were able to hold on for a solid starting spot. I’m happy to be in the top-10. That will be huge in the race on Sunday.”
The Quicken Loans 400 will air live at 1:00 p.m. ET on TNT on Sunday afternoon. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network and Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 90.
