WINCHESTER, Va. (WHSV) – Racing fans in the Shenandoah Valley were in for a special treat on Tuesday afternoon when two-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion Joey Logano paid a visit to Winchester to sign autographs and pose for pictures with fans.
Virginia is a place that’s been kind to Logano during his racing career. He has 10 consecutive top 10 finishes at Martinsville Speedway. Most recently, he finished runner up at the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway March 31.
“[Virginia’s] always so pretty when you come up here, especially this time of year,” said Logano. “It’s nice to come out and say hello to everyone.”
“We kind of find ourselves…not the most comfortable spot as we go into the playoffs,” said Logano. “Right now, we just got to stay focused in and have as many good races as we can.”
The Team Penske driver does believe the team is trending in the right direction in hopes of securing their first win this season.
“The speed in our cars keep getting faster, which is important for that,” said Logano. “We just got to keep executing the race as well too.”
The NASCAR Cup Series heads to Nashville this weekend before heading to Chicago for the second annual Chicago Street Race on July 7.
