Date: July 10th, 2015
Event: Qualifying for the Quaker State 400 (Round 18 of 36)
Seriess: NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
Location: Kentucky Speedway in Sparta (1.5-mile oval)
Recap: Rain showers over the past several days at Kentucky Speedway forced NASCAR to cancel qualifying for Saturday night’s Quaker State 400 and set the field based on practice speeds. With the teams running a new aero package this weekend and getting just one hour of on-track practice time following complete rainouts of practice on Wednesday and Thursday, NASCAR elected to cancel qualifying and give the teams more track time Friday evening. The starting lineup will be set per the rulebook, with first practice speeds setting the field. Joey Logano and the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil/Autotrader Ford Fusion will start fourth.
Coverage: The Quaker State 400 will air live Saturday evening, July 11 at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Performance Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Channel 90.
