Recap: A red flag with less than 40 seconds left on the clock in the final round of qualifying kept five drivers from completing their runs, including Joey Logano. Those five drivers had to fall back on their second round times, meaning Logano and the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford Fusion team will start in the 11th position. According to TV telemetry, Logano appeared to be on a pole run before the caution waved in the middle of his timed lap. The 40 seconds remaining after the caution didn’t allow for enough time for the drivers to make it back to the start-finish line to take the green flag again before the clock would have run out, leaving them to not get a timed lap in the final session.
