Joey Logano and the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford Fusion will start Sunday’s Geico 500 from the 21st position after posting a lap time of 49.714 seconds and a speed of 192.622 mph in Saturday’s qualifying session at Talladega Superspeedway. Today’s qualifying session was a blend of the old and the new as it consisted of single car runs. The top-12 from the first session advanced for a shot at the pole. Today is the first time that Logano has qualified outside of the top-15 this season.
