Joey Logano will start 8th in the #20 Dollar General Toyota with a lap time of 38.878 (185.195 mph). It is Logano’s fourth-straight top-10 qualifying run to start the season.
How did you feel during your qualifying lap? “During my qualifying run I was confused going down the front straightaway to the start-finish line where I was going to go into turn one and whether I was going to run the bottom. My car wasn’t very good on the bottom during practice and thought, ‘To the heck with it — I’m going to go for it and run high.’ I didn’t think it was going to be that good. To be honest, I missed my line on everything. It just goes to show how good the guys did on the Dollar General Toyota — the car is really good. Hopefully it hangs in there. It was quite the pickup for us since our practice. Jason Ratcliff (crew chief) and the boys did an awesome job in qualifying again.”
