Logano to Start on the Front Row in the Coca-Cola 600

Joey Logano and the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford Fusion led Team Penske’s qualifying effort on Thursday evening at Charlotte Motor Speedway and will start second in Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600. Things weren’t looking good for Logano following the first round of knockout qualifying as he turned the 22nd fastest time, just making the 24-car cutoff. In round two, Logano improved to eighth. Then, in the final five-minute session, Logano drove his new-look red Shell-Pennzoil Ford to the second-quickest time, while teammate Keselowski will start sixth on Sunday. For Logano, it was his seventh front-row qualifying effort in just 12 races this year.
